Aidan O’Neill is a junior at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, majoring in Sports Journalism.

Hailing from the small Danish town of Solvang, California, Aidan has been passionate about sports from a young age, with the ultimate goal of becoming a professional play-by-play broadcaster. As an only child, he developed strong communication skills and a comfort with expressing his thoughts clearly—qualities that have helped him thrive in the world of sports media.

At Arizona State, Aidan currently serves as the Head of Broadcast for Blaze Radio, the university’s student-run radio station, where he helps coordinate over 400 broadcasts a season for an award-winning student station. He is also the creator and host of The Irish Hello, a sports talk show that earned national recognition by winning the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) Award for Best Sports Talk Show in 2025.

In addition to his on-air work as a play-by-play broadcaster, videographer, and podcaster, Aidan is deeply interested in the business side of sports, including sports management, marketing, and media strategy, creating a diverse skill set and curiosity about the broader sports industry.
